Port St Mary Lifeboat Station - Callouts: 14th October 2002.

11:14 BST. ALB alerted to assist small fishing vessel Marigold III which hit rocks just to the north of the Calf Sound and was taking on water. PSM and Port Erin lifeboat launched to assist. PSM ALB transferred a salvage pump and assistant mechanic, P Fielding, to pump out water whilst the fishing vessel continued at best speed for Port St Mary.

The following day, after temporary repairs, Marigold III, steamed for Castletown where it was hauled out of the water by a crane. Damage to the stem of the boat as well as seperation of the wooden planking just below the water line was revealed.
